Meet Shakleen hakur

APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC

I am a double certified Family Nurse practitioner and Psychiatry and mental health nurse practitioner. My approach focuses on warm and compassionate, holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach to treat clients. My goal is to develop a trusting relationship with clients so that they can actively participate in the development and implementation of an individualized treatment plan that fits their needs. I apply an array of treatment modalities supporting the biological, psychological, and social dynamics of mental and physical as well. I am passionate and committed to partnering with patients and their families, and to provide care that is uniquely tailored to their individual goals and needs. My goal is for each patient to feel like a respected and valued partner in their healthcare decisions. I believe every patient has a unique story to share and I make every effort to provide individualized and culturally, sensitive care.

 

I practice a full spectrum adult psychiatry/family service with a “whole self” approach that addresses you overall health and well-being. I also have a particular interest in integrated care models, serving the mental health needs of individuals with complex medical conditions. I can diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication and offer other alternative treatments for adolescents and adults. Some of my specialties include (but not limited to) ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, bipolar, Schizophrenia, Addiction/Substance abuse disorders.

 

I have experience in primary care, Pain, mental health, geriatrics, and correctional health. My undergraduate education was completed at Mankato State University, and then I completed my master’s degree in Family Nurse Practitioner/ Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University. I enjoy international travel, spending time with family.
